Maryanna Lanham is a transformational businesswoman, delivering mind shifting talks and workshops for individuals. Her passion lies in helping others live outside of the status quo “box”. She recently participated in collaboration with 17 other women authoring the book The Extraordinary Makeover. Where she has shared pieces of her life that she felt shame about, and the book set her free from that pain.
Mrs. Lanham is owner of Athena Financial Services and is a financial services professional offering her clients customized, holistic, and comprehensive plans for their future. She is dedicated to understanding each client’s circumstances and beliefs while creating plans to protect their families and businesses, to help them save for retirement, and to guide their investment strategies.
Maryanna was a manager at New York Life Insurance for the last two years and for 3 years prior was an agent and Financial Professional with New York Life Insurance & NYLIFE Securities. While Maryanna is maintaining her long relationship with New York Life; in February she took the biggest leap so far in life. A surprise even to her; that she had the faith to pursue her dreams and go into business for herself. She is working with New York Life and other carriers to provide the best for her clients.
Maryanna is active in the Southern Maryland networking and volunteer community. She is the Treasurer (former Member at Large & President) of St. Mary’s Business Partners, is on the board for the Economic Development Committee for the St. Mary’s NAACP, is heading up the sponsorship committee for the Dream Queen Foundation’s upcoming Big Hat Brunch, is a certified Gals Lead facilitator and Networking Leader with the Dream Queen Association. She is currently working on a large event with Calvert Hospice and is a member of the Southern Maryland Women’s League. Maryanna works in the community speaking to groups on topics related to financial awareness and preparedness, from investing and retirement to college planning. She has created a large network of trusted partners in the community that she loves to promote. She enjoys introducing her contacts to each other to help improve our small business community. Maryanna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Services from the University of Maryland.
Outside of her career, Maryanna enjoys a little wine, lots of shopping & the beach. She also loves spending time with her husband, family, and looks forward to helping others achieve their dreams, as she has done hers.
